Building Faith, Character, and Confidence

About

SSB Kids! began in the heart of a school teacher, Priscilla Godi. Her goal was to use sports as a tool to build faith, character, physical fitness, and confidence in today’s youth. Priscilla’s great success in both the public and Christian school classroom was largely due to her passion to keep children active while facilitating a “love for learning”.

SSB 127 24In 1993, Priscilla started an after school gymnastics’ program in her backyard garage where 75 children came weekly to learn gymnastics. The children were so committed, that they often shoveled snow from the trampolines before starting their workouts.

As the neighbors began to protest the crowds, and the gym became a full-time effort, the next move was for Priscilla to open a gym at the Fontana Shopping Center and retire from teaching school. Shortly after becoming a full-time coach, Priscilla met her husband, Mitchell. Mitchell’s background in sports and psychology compelled him to join SSB Kids! and develop a strong competitive team. Together they were dedicated to nurturing and training athletes in gymnastics and in life.

In 2006, several expansions later, a 20,000 square foot multi-sports center was built. The state-of-the-art sports center now houses gymnastics, power tumbling, and trampoline. Day camps, cheer, swimming, and birthday parties have also become part of the facility’s offerings.  Now a private school and early learning facility, “Kids In Motion Academy”, makes use of the complex during the day.  SSB Kids! has developed and trained many Junior Olympic USAG National Champions and helped place numerous athletes on the national podium. However, more importantly, SSB Kids! has trained youth to become successful in every aspect of life. SSB Kids! has a dedicated and outstanding staff who help carry out and continue the mission each day.
